Job Description


Professional family with 3 older children in Lake Bluff is seeking an experienced, self-starting full-time housekeeper. Applicants need to be honest, trustworthy and understand the importance of maintaining discretion. The ideal candidate is also comfortable providing child-care when needed (potentially overnights and days off school) but primary responsibility will be housekeeping. As the role progresses, housekeeper will take on additional house management tasks such as monitoring repairs, managing the family schedule, assisting with meal prep, etc.

Job Requirements


FT Monday-Friday. 40 hours guaranteed per week. Hours can be flexible with exact hours based on the needs of the applicant.
Occasional overnights will be required when parents are traveling. Children are older, but need some supervision and engagement.
Housekeeper MUST have extensive verifiable experience cleaning high end houses. Must know what cleaning products to use multiple fixtures, hardwood floors; granite counter tops, etc.
Housekeeper's responsibilities include complete cleaning and maintenance of the house: regular cleaning; all laundry; sheets, towels, etc.; ironing. Additionally, regular scheduled deep cleaning, such as spring cleaning, windows, etc.
Housekeeper should be comfortable in an environmentally friendly household and should be open to natural cleaning products.
Keep cleaning and household supply lists of all-natural products; notify when inventory is running low.
Housekeeper should develop relationships with the children and be comfortable providing care when needed (ie – days off school, after school, when parents are out of town).
When time allows, housekeeper may be asked to assist with house management tasks such as cooking, organization, running errands, managing appointments, etc. Candidate should be a self-starter and willing to assist with these tasks with minor supervision.
Family has 1 medium sized dog. Housekeeper should like dogs and not have allergies.
