Job Title: Archivist (Greenwich, CT)

Job Description:


A Luxury Fashion e-commerce company based in Greenwich CT is seeking an experienced Archivist to maintain and upload all digital assets, photographs and videos into the company archive. Also consulting with the direct manager to purchase photographic materials for the archive. The successful candidate will have a true passion for photography, art and preservation. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:


  • Procurement of additions to the collection and arrange for all communication, transport, exchange, and return of materials as necessary
  • Help select appropriate photographic materials as needed for family activities
  • Maintaining all information in the database such as materials, location, reference numbers, etc
  • Perform Adobe Photoshop edits of digital photographs such as cropping, enhancements, lighting, scaling, etc.
  • Directly working with the manager to set goals in improving practices
  • Assisting the manager in the prioritizing of photo materials for digitization and relocating collections as needed for protection


This is a Full-Time position. Potential for benefits package. Salary is DOE.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in photography or a related field with a focus on archive and/or preservation
  • Background in design/photography with a strong visual eye is a plus
  • Excellent references from both current and previous employers
  • Experience in modern archival theory, standards, and practices
  • Strong communication and presentation skills both written and oral
  • Ability to lift and move objects (25-30lbs)
  • Skilled knowledge of Photoshop
  • Proficiency in Adobe CS (Ps, Ai, In, Lr) is a huge plus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills and an ability to troubleshoot 
  • Valid United States work authorization
