Job Description


Saint Louis based family seeks an experienced, highly organized, detailed, thorough House Manager to oversee, manage, and maintain all aspects of the principals’ home.

This individual demonstrates the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and discretion; utilizing exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to develop positive working relationships with the principal, members of the household staff, contractors, vendors, and others.

The House Manager is a well-balanced and hands-on executive who will thrive at ensuring the principals’ home is well maintained with an effortless flow.

Strong management skills and techniques are of the utmost importance.

The House Manager will serve as an all-around gatekeeper to the principals’ home. This role focuses on responsibilities such as overseeing housekeeping and other household duties, laundry, preparing the principal for travel, coordinating interior and exterior vendors, purchasing groceries/running errands, maintaining house records, organizing and executing dinners in the home, and general home organization.

The candidate will have a strong ability to lead by example while seamlessly facilitating communication between the principals and multiple vendors and clients.

The House Manager must demonstrate several strengths in a challenging work environment. These include interpersonal skills, the ability to negotiate and communicate well orally and in writing, and the willingness to accept a hands-on role in various aspects of the principal’s Life. In addition, the House Manager must have the following qualities and abilities:

- Ability to listen attentively, understand implied and stated instructions, and adapt to unexpected circumstances.
- Proficient at social etiquette and understanding social queues.
- Detail-oriented, meticulous, and goal-driven, with a passion for excellence and achievement
- Computer and technology skills, including expert use of an array of Apple Products and applications, Microsoft Excel and Word, email, intuitive systems, and other programs and applications that relate to the productivity, management, and operations of a large, modern estate.
- Positive, upbeat, and pleasant, while exhibiting passion, confidence, and a can-do attitude
- Travel in the summer
- Patient, organized, flexible, dedicated, and loyal.
- Principal does own a dog.

Other Considerations:

This is a full-time, year-round, long-term position that offers a competitive salary and benefits. Work hours generally extend from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, service may be required nights and weekends as needed to complete necessary assignments and tasks. The House Manager capable of moderate physical work. Applicants selected by the Principals will be subject to a comprehensive background evaluation.
