Job Description

Private family seeks an experienced House Manager / Butler who will take full responsibility of the residence. The successful candidate will be in charge of handling the property administrative aspects and personal tasks to ensure the smooth daily operation of the residence. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Managing the day-to-day operations of the residence
• Personal shopping and concierge work as needed
• Coordinating executive and personal appointments
• Assisting with all elements of interior hospitality food, beverage and wine within the residence
• Managing household needs such as supplies
• Planning and coordinating events
• Light pet care
• Packing and unpacking for travel
• Housekeeping as requested
• Facilitating residential art, furniture purchases
• Running different type of errands as requested

This is a full-time position. The candidate will be asked to spend summers in the Hamptons. Salary is generous but DOE.

Job Requirements


Requirements

• 4-year degree from accredited college or university
• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience working in private homes
• Outstanding references from both current and previous employers; references will be checked
• A superb command of the English language, both written and oral, is required
• Understands that the utmost in confidentiality and discretion is required
• Superior process-, project-, and time-management skills
• Low key, meticulous, personable and a self-starter
• Must be able to serve guests and assist with dinners, parties, and planning / service of larger events
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills
• “Hand on” at all times
• Flexible scheduling with availability to work overtime and weekends as needed, 24/7 availability
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• US work authorization
