Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Executive Housekeeper for a semi-formal, culturally focused home. The Executive Housekeeper will be responsible for the day-to-day housekeeping operations of this busy home in downtown Toronto. The position is hands-on, requiring an energetic applicant with an excellent work ethic, detailed-eye, and a commitment to maintaining the standards of the home. Flexibility with hours and occasional evening or weekend work will be required.

Job Requirements

Primary Responsibilities:
• Uphold household standards including: managing the cleanliness of the home; daily detailing; and ensuring proper care of household furnishings, objects, and surfaces
• Weekly household cleaning, with support from a once per week cleaner
• Seasonal deep cleaning and special projects
• Basic laundry and wardrobe maintenance, with support from a once per week professional laundress
• Occasional kitchen support for a full-time Chef
• Occasional assistance with social functions and entertaining in the home
• Care of the household china and silver
• Observe and execute all household security and safety programs and protocols
• Maintain the organization of an extensive library
• Update all household manuals as required
• Management of all household inventories
• Organization of storage areas in the home and offsite storage
• Arranging simple day-to-day floral arrangements and maintenance of existing florals in the home
• Assist with the installation of holiday décor
• Assisting in packing and unpacking for travel
• Answering the front door, greet guests and visitors, answer telephone, and take messages

The Successful Applicant:
- Is service-oriented, discrete, and respectful
- Has a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role
- Has excellent mastery of the English language
- Is a thorough and careful cleaner with knowledge of all cleaning skills
- Has an excellent eye for details
- Is quick on their feet with an excellent work ethic and time-management skills
- Is a confident individual who is able to think for themselves and work independently
- Is willing to pitch in under any circumstances, regardless of the task
- Has a genuine commitment to professional housekeeping
- Will work well in a team and maintain a collegial relationship with other staff, trades, and professional contractors (florists, interior designers, etc.)
- Will respect confidentiality and privacy of the Principal, will exercise diplomacy and discretion
- Has experience working in a semi-formal residence
- Should be comfortable working with computers, household technology and mechanical systems
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
